My journey so far...
I grew up as a creative child, loving to draw, color paint and create. I progressed from childish scratches on paper to coloring book art and copying Christmas Cards. From there I took some art and music classes in my school years and when I entered college, I decided to pursue Illustration for my path of study. Over the next few years, I obtained a BFA in Visual Communication Design- Illustration from Brigham Young University.
Up until now, I have been a freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator. I have built a diverse Client base serving the Manufacturing and Medical Industries among others. Over the years, I have grown as an artist in both skill and creative voice. I have enjoyed coming up with creative solutions for clients with products and services that needed a unique presence in the world in order to be successful. The time came, however, that I decided to alter my career path a bit.
For the past few years I have been attending the Art Institutes of Orange County to receive a BS in Media Arts and Animation with an emphasis in Character Modeling and Design for the Gaming and Movie Industries. I decided to do this because of my ongoing interest in games and movies. I have also been more and more interested in the world of 3D models and VFX. I came across an application called ZBrush that I have decided will be the focus of my new career path, because it inspires me to create great art. My natural design taste tends towards realistic and stylized realism for my characters and environments. I am inspired by games such as Skyrim and Fallout and movies in the Sci-Fi / Fantasy and Horror genres.
As for my career aspirations... Having been a freelancer for so long, I want to start working in a studio environment. I plan to enter this industry as a character modeler and after a time I plan to move into Art Direction and, eventually, a Creative Director.
